Product Details

This graphic is informed by the work of Angry Arts of Southern California, a collective that carried forward the momentum of the Peace Tower protests against the Vietnam War in the summer of 1967. After the Artists' Protest Committee had mounted the Peace Tower, Angry Arts expanded the language of resistance beyond the visual art world activating poetry readings, film screenings, theatrical performances, and public gatherings as tools for dissent.

Their actions blurred the line between protest and culture, insisting that creative expression could operate as a public forum and a political force.
Paintings once displayed on the Peace Tower were sold to fund continued resistance, turning art into both message and means.

This piece references that moment when artists refused silence, and creativity became a collective stand against war.
